COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP AND NSS CAMP - DAY 5
DAY 5 - 13.01.2026
The major programme of the forenoon session was a Community Visit to Karunya School, Ayur, an institution functioning for specially-abled children. The visit was a deeply touching and memorable experience for the volunteers. During the visit, the volunteers gifted several essential items to the children of the school as a gesture of care and support. Cultural performances were conducted by both the children of the institution and the NSS volunteers. The programmes created a joyful and emotional atmosphere. The warmth, innocence, and happiness displayed by the children left a strong emotional impact on the volunteers. The visit helped the volunteers develop a deeper sense of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility towards differently-abled individuals.
After returning from the community visit, volunteers had lunch and prepared for the afternoon session. The afternoon programme included a Personality Development Class conducted by Anson P. D. Alexander. The session mainly focused on developing effective communication skills and improving confidence among student teachers. The class was highly engaging, interactive, and entertaining. Various activities and demonstrations were conducted to help volunteers improve their interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and overall personality development. The session helped volunteers gain confidence in public speaking and communication.
In the evening session, volunteers participated in tea break and refreshment followed by community prayer, which promoted unity and spiritual harmony. Later, a cultural programme was organized in which the teacher trainees actively participated and performed various programmes including group songs and other entertainment activities. As part of the preparations for the upcoming musical night, Firoz Sarof from Symphony Beats conducted a practice session for volunteers who were interested in singing along with him. The practice session motivated volunteers and helped them enhance their musical confidence and performance skills.
The fifth day concluded with dinner followed by lights off. The day provided valuable experiences in social service, personality development, and cultural participation, leaving the volunteers with meaningful memories and enhanced social awareness.
