WEEKEND REFLECTION: WEEK 4 (10.08.2025)

The Natural Science Department of Sabarigiri College of Education conducted the weekly reflection for the first phase of teaching practice on Sunday, 10th August 2025. The meeting was held online via Google Meet from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.

The session began with representatives from each school presenting their weekly reflections. Aparna first shared her own and my reflections from Karavaloor School, followed by Akshaya from Karukone School, who spoke positively about her week’s experiences. Then arathi presented her classroom experiences for the week. This was followed by Muhsina and Nuju from St. Goretti’s School, who discussed the challenges they faced due to recent changes in their assigned classes. Arya and Bhavana from Poredom School shared their reflections next, and Ameena from Vayala School concluded the presentations by sharing reflections for herself and Anuroop.

After the presentations, our teacher, Sreedevi Miss, enquired about the conduct of diagnostic tests in our respective schools. She provided detailed instructions to complete 20 lesson plans along with the corresponding reflective journals and advised us to implement remedial teaching based on diagnostic test evaluations. We were reminded to inform our schools that practice teaching would conclude on 16th August, and to consult the concerned subject teachers regarding the completion of remaining portions after the Onam break. She also emphasised the importance of regular attendance in weekend reflection sessions and reminded those yet to complete peer reflections to do so without delay.

Overall, the session was informative and structured, providing clarity on upcoming responsibilities, fostering reflective sharing, and ensuring that all student-teachers remain on track with teaching practice requirements.
