TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 7: 15.09.2025 (MONDAY) TO 19.09.2025 (FRIDAY)
REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
MONDAY - 15.09.2025
I reached the school by around 9:10 AM. After signing the register, I went for my disciplinary duties. Once the bell rang, I proceeded to the staff room for the teachers’ prayer. Following the school prayer, I returned to our assigned classroom. Today, there were no teaching or substitution hours for me since it was the school’s parents’ meeting. All the parents of the students had gathered, and the entire day was devoted to that. In the afternoon, we served the mid-day meal to the students. Meanwhile, the parents’ meeting continued till evening. Since there were no classes, I took the opportunity to complete some pending work during the day. Finally, at 4:30 PM, I signed the register and left the school campus.
TUESDAY - 16.09.2025
Today I reached the school by around 9.10 a.m. After signing the register, I went for my disciplinary duty in the school corridor. Then I returned to the teacher's staff room to attend the teacher's prayer. After the school prayer, we went back to the allotted room. Our school football team was taken to participate in a match at the West School. During the first hour, I got a substitution in Class 8B. I started with the third chapter, Cell and Cell Clusters. I introduced the first topic "cell biology and the scientists who contributed to it" and made use of an ICT-enabled class for better understanding. In the third period, I had my regular class in Class 8B, where I continued with the third chapter of Basic Science. I completed the second topic "scientists who contributed to cell theory and it's concepts" also through an ICT-enabled session. During the fourth period, I got a substitution in Class 7B. There, I conducted a vocabulary game using their Social Science textbook. After the fourth period, I served the mid-day meal to the students. Arts Day practices were also going on throughout the school, bringing a lively atmosphere to the campus. In the seventh period, I again got a substitution in Class 8B. This time, I began the third lesson of the chapter "parts and it's functions of a simple and compound microscope" continuing with the same ICT support. By 4:30 PM, I signed the register and left the school campus.
WEDNESDAY - 17.09.2025
Today I reached the school by around 9.10 a.m. After signing the register, I went for my disciplinary duty in the school corridor. Then I returned to the teacher's staff room to attend the teacher's prayer. After the school prayer, we went back to the allotted room. During the first period, I got a substitution in my concern, Class 8B. There, I continued with the third chapter. The topic I took was " magnification power of microscope and resolution of eye" and I made use of an ICT-enabled classroom. Later, during the third period, I had a substitution in Class 6C. Dance practice was going on in that class, so I just monitored the students. During the lunch break, we served the mid-day meal to the students. In the fifth period, I again had a substitution in Class 8B. I continued with the third chapter, taking the topic "electron microscope, parts, peculiarities and functions". Soon after that, in the sixth period, I got a substitution in Class 7C. Music practice was going on, and I monitored the students. By 4:30 PM, we signed the register and left the school campus.
THURSDAY - 18.09.2025
Today I reached the school by around 9.10 a.m. After signing the register, I went for my disciplinary duty in the school corridor. Then I returned to the teacher's staff room to attend the teacher's prayer. After the school prayer, we went back to the allotted room. Today, I had my KTET Category 2 exam. Since my exam center was nearby, I came to school and stayed there till 11:30 AM. During the first period, I got a substitution in Class 8B, where I continued with the third chapter. The topic I took was "steps to prepare an observation material and its inferences". Soon after that, I had a substitution in Class 5B. From then till 12:00 noon, I spent my time revising notes for the exam. Afterwards, I requested permission from the Headmistress and left the school campus to attend the examination.
FRIDAY - 19.09.2025
Today, I had my KTET Category 3 exam in the morning session. After the exam, I reached back to school around 1:00 PM. Soon after lunch, I got two IT periods in my concern, Class 8B, since their class teacher was on medical leave for a week. During those two hours, I continued with the third chapter. The two topics I took were "peculiarity of cell wall and cell membrane of a plant cell" and "difference between cytoplasm and protoplasm , with its peculiarities" . By 4:30 PM, I signed the register and left the school campus.
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
During this week, I have taken eight topics from the third chapter, Cell and Cell Clusters. The topics are as follows: "Cell biology and scientists who contributed to this", "Scientists who contributed to cell theory and it's concepts", "Parts and it's functions of a compound and simple microscope", "Magnification power of a microscope and resolution of human eye", "Electron microscope - Parts, peculiarities and its functions", "Steps to prepare an observation material and it's inference", "Peculiarities of cell wall and cell membrane of a plant cell", "Difference between cytoplasm and protoplasm with its peculiarities".
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
On Monday, a parents’ meeting was conducted for all the class students. All the parents gathered, and the meeting lasted for the whole day. From Tuesday onwards, Arts Day program practices began, and the activities were going on in every class throughout the school.
OVERALL REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE
This week, I started with the third chapter of Basic Science, Cell and Cell Clusters. Over the week, I covered a total of eight topics from this chapter with my concerned Class 8B. All the sessions were conducted as ICT-enabled classes, which helped make the lessons more interactive and engaging for the students. On tuesday, During the first hour, I started with the topic "cell biology and the scientists who contributed to it" and made use of an ICT-enabled class. This was an observation class, for which I prepared an ICT-enabled lesson. On the same day, In the third period, I continued with the second topic "scientists who contributed to cell theory and it's concepts" also through an ICT-enabled session. In the seventh period, I continued with the third topic "parts and it's functions of a simple and compound microscope" continuing with the same ICT support. On Wednesday, I had two classes with my concerned Class 8B. The topics I took were "magnification power of microscope and resolution of eye" and "electron microscope, parts, peculiarities and functions". Both classes were ICT-enabled, which made the sessions more interactive and engaging for the students. On Thursday, I took the topic "steps to prepare an observation material and its inferences" for my concerned Class 8B. On Friday, I continued with the same chapter and taught two topics "peculiarity of cell wall and cell membrane of a plant cell" and "difference between cytoplasm and protoplasm , with its peculiarities". All of these sessions were conducted as ICT-enabled classes, ensuring better clarity and interaction.
