COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP AND NSS CAMP - DAY 3

DAY 3 - 11.01.2026

The third day of the Community Living Camp began early in the morning with a wake-up call followed by tea. Volunteers actively participated in yoga and Zumba sessions, which helped them maintain physical fitness, mental relaxation, and discipline. After freshening up and breakfast, the morning assembly was conducted. During the assembly, the programme committee of the previous day presented their report, highlighting the activities and achievements of Day 2. The programme committee of the current day presented the schedule and list of programmes planned for the day, ensuring proper coordination and awareness among volunteers. The media committee of the previous day also presented the news report, summarizing the camp activities and important events of the previous day.
The main highlight of the day was the Community Health Camp titled “Jeevamrutham.” The health camp was conducted with the support of Sabarigiri Multi-speciality Hospital, Anchal, under the guidance of Dr. V.K. Jayakumar Sir. The camp was organized at Chippuvayal Anganwadi, which served as the venue for providing healthcare services to the residents of Manasa Gramam.
Prior to the commencement of the camp, the programme committee members and volunteers cleaned the Anganwadi premises early in the morning to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for conducting the medical camp. The programme officially began with a prayer followed by a welcome speech delivered by Bhavana, which marked the formal inauguration of the health camp.
The response from the villagers was overwhelming, as a large number of residents actively participated in the programme. The medical team conducted various basic health check-ups including blood pressure monitoring, diabetes screening, and height and weight measurements. The doctors and medical staff also provided health advice and counselling regarding healthy lifestyle practices and disease prevention. As part of the health awareness initiative, free vitamin tablets were distributed to the beneficiaries, which contributed to improving nutritional awareness among the villagers.
The NSS volunteers played a vital role in organizing and coordinating the camp. They assisted in registration, guided the villagers, managed the participants, and supported the medical professionals throughout the programme. The camp successfully improved health awareness and strengthened the relationship between the volunteers and the community.
In the afternoon session, volunteers continued their activities in Manasa Gramam by engaging in cleaning programmes and community service activities. These activities helped promote environmental hygiene and social responsibility among the villagers.
In the evening, volunteers participated in tea break and refreshment followed by community prayer, which promoted unity and spiritual well-being. As per the camp schedule, a nature documentary screening was conducted after the prayer session. The documentary provided awareness about environmental conservation, natural ecosystems, and the importance of protecting biodiversity. The session was informative and encouraged volunteers to develop environmental responsibility.
The day concluded with dinner followed by lights off, leaving volunteers with valuable learning experiences related to community health service and environmental awareness.
