TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 9: 29.09.2025 (MONDAY) TO 04.10.2025 (SATURDAY)

                                     

                   REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

MONDAY - 29.09.2025
Today I reached the school by around 8:50 a.m., signed the register, and carried out my disciplinary duty in the corridor. After that, I went to the staff room for the teachers’ prayer and, once it was over, returned to my allotted class. Re-tests for students who had not passed the Onam examination were conducted in all classes that day. During the third period, I was given a substitution in class 7C, where I dictated Malayalam notes to the students. During the lunch break, we helped in serving the midday meal. In the fifth period, I was assigned to supervise the students of class 6B during their PT period in the absence of the physical education teacher. In the afternoon session, a Work Experience competition was organized for Upper Primary and High School students. Additionally, a one-day interschool Kabaddi camp was held on the school grounds with the participation of students from Vayala, East, West, and AMMHS schools under the sub-junior and junior boys’ and girls’ categories. Sports practice for upcoming events also continued in the evening. By 4:30 p.m., I signed the register and left the school campus.

TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY: 30.09.2025 to 02.09.2025
These days were holidays due to pooja holidays and gandhi jayanthi

FRIDAY - 03.09.2025
Today I reached the school by around 8:50 a.m., signed the register, and carried out my disciplinary duty in the corridor. Later, I went to the staff room for the teachers’ prayer and, after the school prayer, returned to the allotted room. During the first period, I was given a substitution in class 8B where I conducted the achievement test and collected the answer sheets. In the fourth period, I handled a substitution in class 5A and engaged the students in simple vocabulary games. During the lunch break, we assisted in serving the midday meal to the students. In the sixth period, I again got a substitution in class 7B, where I conducted a short quiz session. By 4:30 p.m., I signed the register and left the school campus.

SATURDAY - 04.10.2025
Today I reached the school by around 8:50 a.m., signed the register, and carried out my disciplinary duty in the corridor. Later, I went to the staff room for the teachers’ prayer and, after the school prayer, returned to the allotted room. During the first period, I was given a substitution in class 5C, where I asked the students to read from their Malayalam textbook. In the fourth period, I handled another substitution in class 8A, where the teacher had instructed me to help the students revise their basic Biology concepts. During the lunch break, we assisted in serving the midday meal to the students. As I did not have any regular class hours for the rest of the day, I utilized the time to complete my college work. By 4:30 p.m., I signed the register and left the school campus.

WEEKEND REFLECTION: WEEK 4 (10.08.2025)

The Natural Science Department of Sabarigiri College of Education conducted the weekly reflection for the first phase of teaching practice on Sunday, 10th August 2025. The meeting was held online via Google Meet from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. The session began with representatives from each school presenting their weekly reflections. Aparna first shared her own and my reflections from Karavaloor School, followed by Akshaya from Karukone School, who spoke positively about her week’s experiences. Then arathi presented her classroom experiences for the week. This was followed by Muhsina and Nuju from St. Goretti’s School, who discussed the challenges they faced due to recent changes in their assigned classes. Arya and Bhavana from Poredom School shared their reflections next, and Ameena from Vayala School concluded the presentations by sharing reflections for herself and Anuroop. TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 7: 15.09.2025 (MONDAY) TO 19.09.2025 (FRIDAY)                                                           REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE MONDAY - 15.09.2025 I reached the school by around 9:10 AM. After signing the register, I went for my disciplinary duties. Once the bell rang, I proceeded to the staff room for the teachers’ prayer. Following the school prayer, I returned to our assigned classroom. Today, there were no teaching or substitution hours for me since it was the school’s parents’ meeting. All the parents of the students had gathered, and the entire day was devoted to that. In the afternoon, we served the mid-day meal to the students.
