DRAMA FEST

On March 11, 2025, the atmosphere at Sabarigiri College of Education buzzed with creativity and anticipation as students gathered for the annual Drama Fest—a vibrant part of the B.Ed. curriculum. Held in the college's general hall, the stage was set with lights, microphones, and a spirit of storytelling. Guided by the dedicated support of Priyatha Ma’am, the event turned into a powerful expression of drama and learning.

Silla anchored the program with confidence, and Unnimaya, the Union Chairman, welcomed the audience with an opening speech. Both Prathibha Ma’am and Priyatha Ma’am shared meaningful thoughts on how drama enriches education and society. To keep the event fair and exciting, the order of performances was chosen by drawing lots.

The Natural Science department took the stage first with their play titled "Mrithasanjeevani", centered around the importance of organ donation. The story followed four friends returning from a party when tragedy struck—one of them met with a fatal accident. The emotional plot unfolded as the doctor explained brain death and the life-saving potential of organ donation. In a heart-touching decision, the character’s organs helped save two other lives.
The cast included:

Pooja (myself) as the Mother

Arathi as Joseph

Ameena as Mohammed

Akshaya as Arun

Muhsina as the Doctor

Nuju as the Ward Boy and Lungs

Aparna as the Kidney

Arya as the Heart

Anuroop as the Eye

Next, the English department presented a moving tribute to Neerja Bhanot, the courageous air hostess who sacrificed her life to protect passengers during a hijacking. Their emotional portrayal of bravery left a deep impression on everyone.

The Mathematics department brought laughter to the hall with their witty drama "Palace of Geometry." Shapes like Rhombus, Rectangle, Trapezium, and Square competed to marry Princess Quadrilateral, turning math concepts into a fun, memorable experience.

The Physical Science department staged "Hostel of Elements," a clever skit where elements like Sodium, Potassium, and Helium were personified as hostel inmates. Managed by a warden and helper, the play was both informative and humorous.

Finally, the Social Science department brought history to life with a powerful enactment of the French Revolution. Their drama featured the rise and fall of King Louis XIV and his queen, capturing the intensity and drama of the revolution’s turning points.

Each department delivered a distinct performance, reflecting creativity, emotion, and educational value. While some stories highlighted real-life heroes and social issues, others added humor and imagination to academic themes. The heartfelt performances and teamwork left a lasting impact on both the audience and participants.

The Drama Fest wasn’t just a stage event—it was a celebration of talent, unity, and the power of storytelling that brought the entire college together.
