VISIT TO BUDS SCHOOL & REHABILITATION CENTRE

As part of our NSS activities, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Buds School at Alayamon Panchayat—an enriching and entertaining experience that left a lasting impression on each of us. A team of 43 NSS volunteers, accompanied by our beloved teachers Jaseena Miss, Sreedevi Miss, and Prathibha Miss, visited the school with hearts full of anticipation and compassion.

We reached the school by 10:30 AM and were warmly welcomed by the students and staff. Due to limited space indoors, we arranged a comfortable outdoor seating setup. Our friend Aravind introduced us to the students, and soon we were learning about their remarkable achievements—many had participated in Kalolsavam and earned great honors, showcasing their exceptional talents.

The program began with a melodious song performance by one of the students, met with cheers and heartfelt applause. Among the students, Appu stood out for his enthusiastic spirit and infectious energy, never letting his disabilities hold him back. The event became even more lively when children from the nearby Anganwadi joined us, adding their charm to the celebration.

From our side, Ashna, Pooja, Aiswarya, and Joyce sang beautiful songs, filling the atmosphere with joy. Soorya kept the energy high by actively engaging with the students. One talented student wowed us with a graceful piano performance, while Shilpa’s energetic cinematic dance left everyone spellbound. Sharath impressed us all with his confident recitation of all Indian states and their capitals, followed by a touching poem. Many others also came forward to showcase their hidden talents, proving the limitless potential within them.

As a token of love and appreciation, we distributed sweets, books, sketch pens, and crayons to the children. One of the most heartwarming moments was when we danced together, sharing uninhibited joy and connection that transcended words.

Shyni Miss, the head teacher, delivered an inspiring speech, sharing her personal journey and her deep dedication to the students—leaving us B.Ed. trainees truly moved and motivated. Our Prathibha Miss also spoke a few kind words, highlighting the essence of empathy and inclusive education.

As we concluded the program, the farewell was emotional yet sweet, filled with handshakes, hugs, and flying kisses from the children. The visit left us with hearts full of love, and memories we will carry with us for a lifetime.
