SUBJECT ASSOCIATION ACTIVITY 

Subject Association activity helps the students to know the importance of the subject. These activities provides cooperation among the students participated in these activities. It helps to develop the creativity of the students. All the students will get an organisation capacity. These activities give information about various things.

    Subject Association activity contain a collection of activities from a global library that would be performed on a common subject. Students learn through their participation and processing it by solving problem and articulating what they have discussed.

* They promote professionalism through the development of subject specific professional knowledge - a service that is highly valued by teachers.

* Subject teaching associations operate to provide for and represent the professional needs of their members, largely in the realm of subject matter knowledge. 

* It helps in the development of curriculum and profession.

* Learning transcends the classroom.

* Critical and creative thinking skills are enhanced.

WORLD ORGAN DONATION DAY

World Organ Donation Day is observed on August 13 each year under the slogan "Be the reason for someone's smile". This day helps to educate people about the critical need for organ donors and how organ donation can save lives. The main purpose behind celebrating this day is to make people pledge to donate organs after death. 

         Our class teacher Sreedevi Miss instructed us to conduct the Subject Association activity on 'World Organ Donation Day'. All the nine teacher trainees of our Natural Science class under the guidance from our Sreedevi Miss together planned how to conduct the activity. Then we divided the duties among ourselves.

WORLD MOSQUITO DAY

World Mosquito Day is observed on August 20 every year. The theme of World Mosquito Day 2024 is "Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world". World Mosquito Day aims to raise awareness of the deadly diseases that mosquitos can transform it such as malaria, yellow fever, dengue and chikungunya. On this day we recognise the impact mosquitos have globally on public health. Some of the world's most deadliest diseases are carried and transmitted by mosquitos. So it is important to eliminate mosquitos. Anchoring was assigned to Ameena Navas, Introduction by Akshaya S, Logo presentation by Anuroop V S, Awareness by Nuju Fathima M, Diseases by Muhsina Sulaiman, Theme by Aparna S, Poster presentation by Arathi B G, Schemes by Arya A S and Vote of thanks by myself.

NUTRITION WEEK

The National Nutrition Week is a global healthcare event focused on nutrition. In india it is observed in the first week of September every year since 1982. This year's slogan is "Nutritious diet for everyone" supports the United Nations goals for sustainable development. It focuses on encouraging diets that meet the nutritional needs of people at all stages of life. 

        Anchoring was assigned to Arathi B G, welcome speech by Nuju Fathima M, Introduction by myself, Poster presentation by Arya A S, Theme of the day by Akshaya S, Thought of the day by Aparna S, Awareness by Anuroop V S, Quiz by Muhsina Sulaiman and Vote of thanks by Ameena Navas. 

        We played a Musical skit based on the importance of nutrition week. The title of the skit is 'മമ്മിയാക്കുന്ന യമ്മികൾ'. Teacher trainees were divided into two groups of healthy foods and junk foods. Healthy foods include fruits, vegetables, milk, fish and meat. The junk foods include lays, noodles, pizza and KFC. The skit portrayed the harmful effects of junk foods and the importance of having healthy foods. 

          We also presented a video on food plate. The importance, the portion of food, quality of food etc are clearly explained in this video. The concept of food plate ensures that individuals consume a balanced diet providing the body with the necessary nutrients, vitamins and minerals for optimal functioning. It promotes healthy eating habits. 

          We conducted a quiz session regarding the aspects of nutrition. 2 students from each department participated in the quiz program. Quiz was conducted on three levels. Social science department won the quiz. Last was a salad tasting game. Gloria and Soorya have participated and both won the game.

DAY   : MONDAY 

WORLD HEART DAY

World Heart Day is an important annual event witnessed every year on 30th September. The day is celebrated by organising various activities and awareness events globally to raise awareness about heart diseases and it's preventive measures to manage cardiovascular diseases. In 2024, the theme for World Heart Day is to motivate individuals to look after their heart health. Anchoring was done by Akshaya S. Introduction of the activity was given by Ameena Navas. Theme of 2024 was presented by Arya A S. Aparna S gave us Awareness of world heart day. Anuroop V s recited the pledge. A quiz session was conducted by Nuju Fathima M. Bhavana presented a poster. Different types of heart diseases was explained by myself. Various schemes related to heart diseases were given by Arathi B G. Muhsina Sulaiman concluded the activity by vote of thanks.

DAY   : TUESDAY 

NATIONAL VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION DAY IN INDIA 

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is observed every year on October 1. The day is celebrated to raise awareness about the importance of blood and need for voluntary blood donation. The day was first observed in 1975 by the Indian society of Blood transfusion and immunohematology. Donating blood is not just beneficial to the reciever, but also the donor as it stimulates formation of new blood cells. Studies found that frequent blood donors have lower riski of liver, lungs, colon, stomach and throat cancer.
Anchoring was done by Anuroop V S. Introduction of the program was given by Aparna S. Significance of donating blood was shared by Bhavana. Arathi B G shared the points to be noted before donating blood. Theme of the program was discussed by Muhsina Sulaiman. Arya A S conducted a quiz session which was very educative and enjoyable. A poster theming blood donation was presented by Nuju Fathima M. I myself recited a poem signifying the importance of blood donation.
