ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAMME
On January 28, 2025, the teacher trainees of Sabarigiri College of Education organized a Road Safety Awareness Program with the aim of promoting safe and responsible driving habits among the public. The initiative was a part of the college’s continued efforts to contribute meaningfully to community welfare.
The program began with a rally, during which participants carried placards bearing important road safety messages. The slogans emphasized key practices such as wearing helmets, following traffic signals, avoiding overspeeding, and refraining from using mobile phones while driving. These visual reminders were aimed at educating both drivers and pedestrians on the significance of traffic rules.
As part of the awareness drive, the students also delivered road safety messages, stressing the consequences of negligence on the road and urging everyone to adopt safe driving practices to prevent accidents.
The group then visited Anchal Chandamuk Bus Stand, where they distributed road safety pamphlets to bus drivers, auto drivers, and other vehicle operators. The pamphlets included detailed guidelines on traffic rules, tips for defensive driving, and the importance of regular vehicle maintenance. Many of the drivers responded positively, appreciating the thoughtful gesture and expressing genuine interest in road safety.
This awareness program effectively sensitized the public to the importance of road discipline and contributed to fostering a culture of safety and responsibility on the roads. It was a successful step toward creating a more informed and cautious community of road users.
