NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY CELEBRATION

On January 27, 2025, Sabarigiri College of Education celebrated National Girl Child Day, with the theme "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future." Though observed nationally on January 24, the celebration aimed to highlight the importance of empowering girls through education, healthcare, and equal opportunities, and to raise awareness about their rights and potential in society.

The event featured a vibrant array of activities including speeches, a poster presentation, and a skit. The program was anchored by Anamika, who guided the event with enthusiasm and clarity. Joysi welcomed the gathering warmly, setting the tone for an inspiring session. Aswathy delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the day, followed by Roy Sir, who elaborated on its deeper significance in today’s world. Jaseena Miss shared inspiring real-life stories of women who overcame adversity, offering motivation to all present.

A poster presentation by Shinu creatively depicted the struggles and achievements of the girl child, conveying a strong visual message. One of the most impactful moments was a powerful skit, which portrayed the life of a girl born into a family where she was considered unwanted. The emotional performance shed light on gender discrimination and called for societal change in attitudes toward girls.

Kripa delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all speakers, performers, and attendees for their contributions and participation.

The celebration of National Girl Child Day was a poignant reminder of the ongoing need to support, respect, and uplift every girl child, reinforcing the message that when we empower girls, we build a stronger, more equitable future for all.
