SCHOOL INDUCTION PROGRAMME: DAY 5 (25-10-2024)

DAY 5

On the fifth day, October 25, 2024, Friday, we reached the school at 9.15am. we signed the attendance register and went to the classroom assigned to us.

REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

I arrived at the school campus at 9:15 a.m. After signing the register, I was assigned disciplinary duty at the school gate to ensure the safety of students crossing the road. As it was our last day at school, we joined the teachers' prayer session, which typically takes place in the staff room before the school prayer. I was then free until the fourth period. During the fourth period, I covered a substitution class for 6B. Afterward, I served lunch to the students as part of the noon meal program. Shortly thereafter, I received another substitution assignment for the 7B class. In the sixth period, I also covered a substitution class for 7C. Having spent time with both 7C and 7B the previous day, it was heartwarming to receive sweet feedback from those students. In the final hour, I observed a practice session for a group song. After school dismissal, we distributed jilebi sweets among the Headmaster (HM), teaching, and non-teaching staff. The HM and teachers wished us all the best for our future. We took one last tour around the campus, signed the register, obtained the seal and signature from the HM, and departed the school campus at 4:30 p.m.

REFLECTION ON CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

During the fourth period, I was assigned to substitute for the 6 B class. Some students were writing their homework, while others were making handmade greeting cards and drawing pictures. I observed everything and asked if they were ready to play a vocabulary game. Only a few agreed, so I encouraged them to participate. In the fifth period, I again substituted for the 7 C class, where I had spent time with them the previous day. Yesterday, I played a Kerala quiz with them, and today I played an India quiz. I informed them that it was my last day at the school, and they asked when I would return. I replied that it might be next year. They wished me good luck, and I was delighted to receive positive feedback from them, as it was my first experience in a school setting. Next, I substituted for the 7 B class, where I had also played a Kerala quiz the previous day. Today, I played an India quiz with them. These students were very intelligent, and when I mentioned that it was my last day, they requested sweets. I promised them that I would bring sweets when I come for teaching practice next year.
