WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY CELEBRATION
On March 18, 2025, the teacher trainees of Sabarigiri College of Education organized a lively and meaningful event to observe World Consumer Rights Day. The aim of the program was to raise awareness about consumer rights, ethical buying practices, and legal safeguards — all through engaging and interactive sessions.
The event was smoothly hosted by Anupama, who set the stage for an informative and enjoyable experience. A detailed PowerPoint presentation was given by Anakha, who shared important points about consumer rights, duties, and the need to make wise choices while shopping or using services.
To make the learning process more fun, Revathy introduced a creative game that involved guessing the current market prices of everyday items like sugar, salt, tomatoes, and onions. Two students from each department joined in, and Prathibha and Stephy from the English department won the challenge with their accurate guesses.
The active involvement of both students and faculty added to the success of the event. It not only improved understanding of consumer-related issues but also encouraged everyone to think more carefully about how they shop and spend. The celebration helped underline the importance of being smart, aware consumers in today’s fast-changing world.
The event ended with a sincere vote of thanks by Reeba, who appreciated the efforts of everyone who contributed to the program. This celebration once again showed how Sabarigiri College of Education continues to promote learning that goes beyond the classroom, helping students grow into responsible and informed citizens.
