NATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION

On February 13, 2025, Sabarigiri College of Education celebrated National Women’s Day in honor of Sarojini Naidu, the Nightingale of India, who played a pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle and was a staunch advocate for women’s rights.

The event was anchored by Arjun, who kept the program flowing with energy and clarity. The celebration began with Suja, who eloquently explained the significance of the day, emphasizing the need to recognize and honor women’s achievements and struggles.

A memorable highlight of the program was a role-play performance by Anju, who appeared as Sarojini Naidu and delivered a compelling speech, reminding the audience of her legacy as a poet, leader, and inspiration to countless women across generations.

This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation by Shifana, showcasing the historical contributions of women, the challenges they continue to face, and their resilience and achievements across various fields. Her presentation served as a visual tribute to women's strength and determination.

The program’s emotional peak was a mime performance by Unnimaya, Stephy, Prathiba, Soorya, Lakshmi, Silla, and Gloria. Through silent but expressive acting, they portrayed the societal struggles endured by women. The performance left a lasting impression on the audience, encouraging deeper reflection on gender equality and social justice.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Malavika, who appreciated the dedication of all participants and organizers. In his closing remarks, Arjun emphasized that the achievements of women should not be confined to a single day of recognition but celebrated every day.

This year’s National Women’s Day celebration was not only a tribute to Sarojini Naidu but also a call for continuous action towards equality, empowerment, and a fairer society for all.
