VISIT TO LEXICON ARTS AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION
On January 17, 2025, we, the B.Ed. trainees, had the opportunity to attend the Lexicon Arts and Science Exhibition, hosted by the Sabarigiri DMLT Institute. This exhibition was a remarkable blend of creativity, knowledge, and innovation, showcasing the dedication and expertise of the students.
One of the primary themes of the exhibition focused on infertility and reproductive health. The students displayed intricate models of the male and female reproductive systems, zygotes, embryos, sperms, and ova, providing a comprehensive understanding of the subject. They also explained various conditions, including Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts, highlighting their causes, symptoms, and treatments.
The exhibition also included a detailed presentation on in vitro fertilization (IVF), along with dietary recommendations and foods that enhance fertility for both men and women. This segment was both informative and engaging, providing valuable insights into reproductive health.
Another section of the exhibition was dedicated to laboratory instruments and techniques. Students introduced visitors to various lab equipment and separation methods employed in medical and scientific research. They also shared their knowledge on the current HMPV virus, discussing its symptoms, preventive measures, and treatment options.
The creative aspect of the exhibition was equally impressive, featuring handmade crafts, paintings, and still models of iconic buildings and structures from each district of Kerala. The craftsmanship and attention to detail exhibited by the students were truly commendable, adding a vibrant touch to the event.
In addition to science and art, the exhibition addressed the critical issue of mental health. A student delivered an insightful talk on depression, its effects on individuals, and the available diagnostic methods. The presentation was both heartfelt and educational, shedding light on a vital topic.
The final segment of the exhibition explored various diseases and disorders, including varicose veins, pancreatic stones, kidney stones, chronic pancreatitis, gall bladder stones, and lung stones. The students provided detailed explanations of each condition, highlighting their causes, symptoms, and treatments.
The Lexicon Arts and Science Exhibition was an enriching experience that seamlessly integrated education with creativity. It was a testament to the hard work, ingenuity, and dedication of the students who organized it. We left with a deeper appreciation for the subjects presented and the effort that went into making the event a resounding success.
