REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
On January 27, 2025, Sabarigiri College of Education celebrated India’s 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. Though Republic Day is officially observed on January 26, the celebration was held on the 27th this year as the 26th fell on a Sunday.
The program began with Ashna anchoring the event, offering a warm welcome and setting a vibrant and respectful tone. The highlight of the celebration was a speech by Silla, who eloquently spoke about the significance of Republic Day, tracing its historical roots and connecting its importance to present-day India. Her words evoked a strong sense of national pride and civic duty.
Following her, the college principal delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the core values of the Indian Constitution—justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. The principal’s message reminded everyone of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the importance of upholding democratic ideals.
A special video presentation was then shown, showcasing the first-ever Republic Day celebration of Independent India. This visual journey into the nation’s formative years captivated the audience and deepened their appreciation for India’s democratic heritage.
Adding a musical touch, a group of teacher trainees performed a soulful patriotic song, which filled the hall with emotion and national pride. A PowerPoint presentation followed, highlighting India’s achievements since becoming a Republic, reinforcing the progress and resilience of the country.
The event concluded with a spirited rally, where students and faculty marched together, waving flags and chanting patriotic slogans. The rally symbolized a collective commitment to national unity and growth.
The Republic Day celebration was not just an event but a powerful tribute to the spirit of democracy. It inspired everyone to carry forward the values that define our nation and to strive for a brighter, united India.
