MARTYR'S DAY CELEBRATION

On January 30, 2025, Sabarigiri College of Education commemorated Martyrs’ Day with a heartfelt and meaningful celebration. Observed annually, this day pays tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives for the nation. It holds special significance as it marks the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948, reminding us of the values of truth, non-violence, and patriotism that he stood for.

The program commenced with Revathy as the anchor, whose insightful introductions and smooth coordination set a solemn and reflective tone for the event. This was followed by a moving speech by Thoufeeka, who paid eloquent tribute to the countless martyrs whose courage and selflessness paved the way for India's freedom. Her heartfelt words stirred a deep sense of gratitude and reverence in the audience.

Adding a visual dimension to the event, a video presentation curated by Shamnad was showcased. It featured historical footage and powerful imagery that brought to life the sacrifices of the martyrs and their immense contributions to the nation’s independence. This segment added a compelling emotional depth to the event.

To foster active participation and historical awareness, Anupama organized a quiz session, engaging students in recalling important facts about India’s freedom struggle and its heroes. The quiz not only tested knowledge but also encouraged reflection on our patriotic heritage.

Overall, the event was a poignant tribute to the martyrs, allowing the students and faculty of Sabarigiri College of Education to honor their memory and reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of our freedom fighters. It served as a powerful reminder of the cost of our freedom and the responsibility we bear to uphold the principles for which the martyrs laid down their lives.
