ONAM CELEBRATION
DATE : SEPTEMBER 12
On September 12th, our college community came together to celebrate the Onam, marking a joyous and vibrant occasion. To ensure the success of the event, the college was divided into various committees, including the program committee, decoration committee, food committee, and cleaning committee.
The students were requested to arrive at the college by 8:30 AM, and promptly at 9:00 AM, the first and second-year students began decorating the hall with an array of colorful flowers. Their creative efforts resulted in a stunning Athapookalam and a charming miniature swing, carefully crafted near the stage.
By 11:00 AM, the program commenced, with the principal, teachers, staff, and students from both the first and second years gathered in the hall. The celebration was formally inaugurated by the founder chairman, Dr. V K Jayakumar, and Sabareesh Jayakumar. Dr. V K Jayakumar delivered an inspiring inaugural speech, followed by an address from our principal, Dr. Roy G.
The event featured an exciting array of games like sundarikku pottu thodal, kasera kali, etc, which proved to be highly entertaining and sparked a spirited competition between the first and second-year students. The Onam-themed entertainment programs, including songs and dances, added to the festive atmosphere.
A sumptuous Sadya was served in the afternoon, courtesy of the college, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The most anticipated game of the day was conducted later tug of war, with the second-year students emerging victorious. As a token of appreciation, they were awarded a bunch of bananas.
The program drew to a close by 3:30 PM, with all students having performed their assigned tasks with dedication and enthusiasm. The Onam Celebration was indeed a memorable day, filled with joy, camaraderie, and a deep sense of community.
