CHILDREN'S DAY
On November 14, our college celebrated Children's Day as part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) activities. The event was a joyous celebration of childhood and an opportunity to create awareness about the importance of nurturing young minds.
The main program, hosted by Silla, began with a speech by Suja, who emphasized the significance of Children's Day and its relevance in today's society. Arathi followed with an informative PowerPoint presentation about the history and significance of Children's Day, providing valuable insights into the life and legacy of Jawaharlal Nehru, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Children's Day.
Lakshmi and Unnimaya showcased their creativity with a poster presentation on Children's Day, highlighting the importance of education, health, and happiness in a child's life. Surya's energetic dance performance added a touch of vibrancy to the event, while Shifana's awareness class on the impact of cartoons on children sparked an interesting discussion on the role of media in shaping young minds.
Pratibha organized a quiz competition, where two students from each department participated, and the students from Physical Science and Social Science departments emerged as winners. The event concluded with an entertaining game organized by Pooja and Aravind, where students were shown childhood photos of their classmates and asked to identify who's who. The game was a huge hit, generating laughter and nostalgia among the participants.
Following the program in the general hall, the 52 teacher trainees visited the Sabarigiri Higher Secondary School, which is the home school for our B.Ed. college. With prior permission from the principal, we distributed sweets and handmade greeting cards to the children, bringing smiles to their faces. It was a heartwarming experience, and we felt grateful for the opportunity to spread joy among the young minds.
Upon returning to our college, we celebrated Children's Day with a sweet treat, distributing sweets among ourselves and reliving our childhood memories. The event was a great success, and we cherished the experience of making the child within us happy.
