UNION AND ARTS CLUB INAUGURATION

The Union and Arts Club of Sabarigiri College of Education was inaugurated on November 1, 2024, in the college's General Hall. The program, conducted by the college union members, commenced at 10:00 AM. Anchors Ammulekshmi and Akshara warmly welcomed everyone, followed by a melodious prayer sung by Aiswarya and a graceful welcome dance performed by Arathi. Our distinguished guests, Dr. Jayakumar and Vineeth Elamadu, a renowned mimicry artist, were honored with a warm introduction. Dr. Roy G, our principal, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech. Dr. V.K. Jayakumar, founder and chairman of the Sabarigiri Group, lit the lamp and inaugurated the ceremony, accompanied by Dr. Roy, Miss Sreedevi, Vineeth Elamadu, Chairperson Unnimaya, General Secretary Anju, and Arts Club Secretary Soorya. Jayakumar Sir shared inspiring words, and our Chairperson introduced the union's name, "DRUTA," and unveiled its logo. The Arts Club inauguration was led by Vineeth Elamadu, who captivated the audience with his insightful discussions on poetry, literature, and the arts, and entertained them with impressive impersonations of famous celebrities. He concluded the program with a thought-provoking poem and song emphasizing the importance of equality and unity. We presented him with a memento as a token of appreciation. Felicitations were offered by Soorya and Anju. Miss Sreedevi delivered a speech highlighting the significance of our union and shared her valuable thoughts. The vote of thanks was graciously presented by Silla Theresa, our vice chairperson. The program continued with various entertainment acts, including songs and dances performed by Ashna, Soorya, Shifina, Akshaya, Aiswarya, Pooja, Jerin, and the English department students. The program concluded on a joyful note at 1:30 PM, followed by a delicious meal arranged for all attendees.


KERALA PIRAVI DAY CELEBRATION 

On November 1, 2024, the Social Science department organized a program called "Kelikott" to commemorate Kerala Piravi, the formation of Kerala in 1956. The event began at 2:45 PM and featured a quiz competition, Malayali Manka, and Sreeman competition. Ameena and Arathi emerged as the winners of the quiz. The Malayali Manka competition was an entertaining segment where 16 participants were quizzed by our teachers, Sreedevi Miss, Meenu Miss, Revathy Miss, and Shamla Miss. The competition consisted of three rounds, with the second round featuring more challenging IQ-testing questions. Anamika from the Mathematics department was declared the winner of the Malayali Manka competition, while Aravind from the Physical Science department won the Sreeman title. It was a unique and engaging experience. Our teachers crowned Anamika and presented Aravind with a Sreeman memento. The quiz winners, including me, received prizes from the teachers. The program concluded at 4:00 PM.
